Went to the 3 banks today to swap several boxes of Cents and Nickels and to look for odds n ends. Found 78 $2 bills at one bank, a 1934-A $20 bill at another bank and the last bank had some dollar coins... 84 Eisenhowers!!!!

    First time I've found Eisenhowers in a year and a half, and the most I've ever found by a factor of 10. 9 different coins represented: 71, 71-D, 72, 72-D, 74, 74-D, 76, 76-D, and 77.

One of the 76's was a type 1, so that definitely filled a slot for me. A couple others may be upgrades, don't know for sure, but at the very least, I've got a good start on a 2nd collection. I gave my dad 5 Eisenhowers to fill slots in his collection. Also found 2 small dollars today that filled slots in his collection, 1999-D, and a Nixon-P.

Nice finds. One roll of CWR Nickels and 5 rolls of CWR Cents were a bust. But I saved 4 halfs from Dad's culls pile that may be upgrades in my collection. :)

I haven't posted in a while. But I decided to join back. When I came back from holiday back in September, we bought dominos pizza. When I went to our car the next morning, something amazing was awaiting me in the cup holder, a 1944 P silver nickel. It gave me hope, and told me to come back to this website. Unfortunately, I already had this coin because I purchased it, but I'll save it for later. ;)

Not in a 'roll' but an interesting find.

CRISP Star note from the bank.

I stopped in to get a new note to roll up inside shrink wrap to insert into a toothpaste tube for my son as safety money while he's travelling abroad.

I didn't look 'til I got home and I didn't have time to get another bill.

I'm also curious as to the worth of a CRISP, un-wrinkled $100 Star note. TY!

I know people do it. I know it's a hot button item but why the heck do you have to mark them up? I know what peoples point is
I know why you do it but I really don't understand. I know it's a hot topic but why feel the need to mark up something that otherwise is nice?

For some reason I can't quote posts right now. Anyways, tagging halves is an abomination. Why people do it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Yeah, you just got a new box and you saw your dated tag that you searched a month ago. What good does that do. Someone explain to me why people do this. As far as the grafitti ones go that's just juvenile behavior. There is a person "JK" whose tag mark has shown up at least once in every box I have ever searched. Rediculous.

Bman, I also don't like it when hunters mark halves.

But, I think it's interesting to see the marks that are handwritten dates on halves. That said it's annoying when 5 coins in each roll are marked with the same mark.

I bet I see an average of 10 different marks in each box, and this doesn't count marks on the side of the coins, which are almost as numerous.

A few years ago I found one coin on which someone had drawn a headdress on JFK. The headdress was even multicolored. I threw it back, but am now considering keeping the more creative marked coins.

I've already kept a few of the coins marked by metal punches...the punches are typically single numbers or letters. Obviously, coins marked with metal punches have no numismatic value and never will, which is sad.

    Brina,

Google "star note lookup" and you'll find out whether or not the star note you found was a common or a less common one. I've found a few crisp $100*s but they've been common so I've spent them.

  16. Bought 42 IKE dollars. Started looking at them. I believe the UNUM is DD the left wing the second feather in DD, stars not sharp and MM filled.

Several of those Ike 1976's I got the other day are DD. Three have reverse doubling on the words and stars and three have obverse doubling on the words. All are variety 2 coins.

Seems like there were lots of quality issues with those coins.

I have been watching coin roll hunting videos on You Tube and thought
what the heck and two rolls of dimes from the local bank. Of course I
thought that what are the chances of finding silver in only two rolls of
dimes. I opened the first roll and there plain as day was a silver coin
dated 1963 s. Of course I thought what are the chances. I opened the
second roll and there was no silver but a lot of shiny new ones.
I was happy with the one dime I did find. Now two day's later a fever
had come upon me! Thank's guy's, this is my first post.

Last week, was a skunk week. Only did four boxes. It's been slim pickings. Picked up five boxes today from two branches that was holding them for me over the Thanksgiving break. Two boxes were skunks but three produced 19.8 ounces!

All nine boxes have an abundance of 2002-2016 NIFC. Just recycled them. One box had 2-1991s, 2-2014s, 1-1976s clad, 1-1982s and a 1986 Land of the Free, 3-Franklins, 4-40% Kennedys

    Box Two
    3-Walkers, 10- Franklins, 4-90% Kennedys, 12-40% Kennedys

    Box Three
    4-Walkers, 1-Franklin, 3-90% Kennedys, 47-40% Kennedys

Will have 9 more boxes this week. Will update if any new finds.

A couple of month ago I asked my bank if they would order me a box of halves, they said no problem we'll call you. When they called me to pick them up it was a sealed clear bag of loose coins. Was I wrong to say no thanks and walk away?
