My newest collecting thread is "Historical figures on coins".

I went to a local coin show today and was able to add 2 coins to my historical figures collection. 1 is very modern but is still interesting. Here they are.

I am very happy with these 2.

Napoleon really looks like an emperor with that laurel on his head.

I have been looking for a nice portrait of Elizabeth I and this coin has it.

Nice! I see you are expanding beyond silver denarii.
Elizabeth I and Napoleon were both certainly significant historical figures.

Thank you, Orfew for your very kind words.
This is a very interesting thread you have started.

Here is another coin related to Elizabeth I which might be of interest to this thread.
This is a shilling minted for her half brother Edward VI.

Edward was Henry VII's son and only legitimate male heir, son of lady Jane Seymour. He succeeded his father on the throne on Henry's death in 1547. Edward was then only 9 years old, but died young at the age of 15. Edward was succeeded by his elder half-sister Mary (daughter of Henry VIII's first wife Catherine of Aragon).
Mary I Tudor died in 1558, clearing the way for her half-sister Elizabeth to become queen of England. Elizabeth I was to reign upon England for 45 years.

Edward VI, half brother of Elizabeth I:
    Shilling, Tower mint, London 1549.
    Mintmark arrow. S2466.

I love those coins. My favourite is the 40 Francs Napoleon in gold. I been been eying several 20 Franc gold pieces but I m having trouble deciding between the republican and imperial issues.

That is a great collection @Cucumbor
