I scrapped a bunch of metals, my budget really wasn't allowing me to buy any coins. I have been preparing for this day for a while and stored up the metals from doing Bath remodels and well drinking beer, so o had a tone of cans in bags on the side of the house.
Here is the first. These are preliminary photos, I think I can get some better details on this one. It will go with one of my Quarters and dime.

I am always a fan of buying toned scrap, this one had a small premium.

Hmm. Maybe I worded it incorrectly. I meant to say that the scrap that you cashed in on was well worth the coin purchase. :)

I hear ya, in a lot of circles most unbrilliant 64's are considered as bullion.

In cases such as this the word 'color' must be substituted with the English version of colour. I believe the UK terminology adds more vibrance.....

In that case I am going to try the next of the bunch, it's a Lincoln known to be colorful. Reminder, I don't do toned Lincoln's well.

I must have had the lighting close enough to the right positions. These are better than I expected.

Pork tenderloin and some candy. Add some beer and tomorrow there might be some horn playing.

As if I needed another Buffalo, this toner will fit nicely with the herd though.

I do this too. Although the accumulated funds haven't yet gone directly to a coin, it falls under discretionary spending. We get 50c/lb for aluminum around here. It breaks my heart to go to the public recycling center and see all the cans in the bin. Do these people not know a bag of cans gets you $7 at the private recyclers, or are they just lazy?

Years ago I used to drink literally tons of Diet Cokes. We have a sanctuary wooded area behind my house (my property) so I started saving cans to recycle. I would crush the cans and place them in garbage bags, and hide them out of sight. Well, 3 years later, I had enough to fill the bed of my truck bed with, to the brim. So I took them to the recycle center and they weighed and paid me. $40. And that is the end of my recycling adventure.:muted::D
