1943 Is the year my mom was born in and 6 days ago she would have been 81 (she passed in 1992 at 49) she loved her kids and her family, she also loved teaching kids

Now many will be critical of me for doing such a thing, but to me, it was a perfect time to buy

No disrespect to your mom, but how can this coin be MS 66 with so much detail missing?

Now you know why I don't post here much, cause of people who focus on one thing and miss the whole damn point of the thread

Frustrating as hell when one makes a thread that is simple and to the point, then someone who is just looking for something to attack focuses on something the thread is not about:punch::rage::banghead:

As I said I meant no disrespect, I was just commenting on the grade of the coin
as I saw it. MS-66 is a VERY high grade and the coin should reflect that.

I don't know why anyone would be critical of you for buying a coin that is your mom's birthyear. Unless the coin was professionally graded, grading will meet various opinions (sometimes even if professionally graded). MS66 is nearly perfect, and few coins meet that high of a grade. @Michael K meant no harm and I see no ill intended in his post. It was not a personal attack.

This is the Coin Chat forum. Great place to get opinions of your coins. Looks like folks here were doing just that before the images were removed. I would have never guessed the OP did not want to talk about the coin.

Buying a coin for someones birth year is pretty cool. Fun way to remember someone you love.

I will stop for now. That is enough DSM V material, for the moment.

masterswimmer A Caretaker, can't take it with me

I saw the coin pix before they were removed. My very FIRST reaction was, that is a counterfeit holder. There was no way I saw that merc as an AU. No way. Didn't even look like XF. Then I realized the '43 merc in MS66 is still <$100. So why would it be a fake holder? I still don't know the answer to that Q. Best I could come up with is, I don't typically like to grade any coin from a picture. There must be something PCGS sees that I can't see.

Silverpop, nice on you to remember your mom through the coin. Enjoy it.
