I'd beware anything raw that has a price tag of around $500 in its worst condition. In my opinion, at best I see environmental damage, at worst, I see an effort to hide tooling. This is something that needs to be photographed with a loupe and magnified so we can really see that leg.
Shoot it out of the flip. And I agree with Seattlite86 something just looks off, or environmental issues .
Question Did you purchase it? ( If not don't ! ) This coin no matter what the price isn't the 1937 D 3 legged you want. IMHO
This coin is a Fake! Tooled has none of the pups that would make it original . My guess it's been tooled. You can remove a front leg but you can't make the pups that need to be in place to make it a real McCoy. The rear leg should look moth eaten. And the buffalo's beard is off. The missing leg isn't really missing.....as this specimen is..... it's doctored
There is a cute saying that always helps me remember the diagnostics: If the buffalo isn't p***ing, the leg isn't missing.
The surfaces are absolutely off, and the coin may end up not being genuine at all. I reserve judgment until I see the other side.
The mm isn't even right! As Paddy said the back leg isn't moth eaten. there are lots wrong with it. Once out of the flip it looks sand blasted.
No you're correct if the entire leg is missing you're being taken...... as you don't have a leg to stand on so to speak Notice mines the leg isn't totally missing!
