Haven't been able to nail down witch DDO this is. Would like to get a round about value on it any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Your half dollar looks like the 66 SMS DDO-016, note the small die gouge to the right of the designer’s initial on the neck. You can also see that the die scratches above the E of WE and below the W also match. See attached photo of a Stage A SMS DDO-016. Larry Nienaber
Over the past year, I sold off my collection of 1966 sms doubled profile coins. All were certified by ANACS because they are the only ones who recognize and certify all the varieties for this date.....and there are quite a few. Some do command more than others. Unless your DDO is certified with the correct attribution, I am afraid to tell you that it probably isn't worth more than $10-15 based on my experience. Once graded, it becomes a crap shoot as to its value. Ive sold some of my varieties for over $250 and others I couldn't give away. All were top pops or one below. The DDO-016 (if this is what it turns out to be) is not one of the more popular ones so it may be difficult to sell.
