I'm thinking that the image is shown darker that what this looks like in hand. Breaks in the toning .
I can say with 100% certainty that the ALBUM toning on this coin, was present the day it was graded and hasn't progressed much if any at all since being slabbed. I'm not an expert in the science and chemistry of thin film interference but I've seen my fair share of coins and read up on it. Keep in mind Dave that what you see here looks different than in hand, especially the luster and contrast color The reverse is actually gold green and magenta, but looks dark brown/grey in the Image
I guess I'll do the reveal after I drink my dinner In the meantime I've got some vamming to do Side note- you guys STILL haven't got it yet? As of right now we do have an honorable mention
65 for now. Maybe I'll revise it if I can get get to the computer I usually look at coins on. Not much to add, yes the strike is quite weak, but that doesn't seem to hinder the TPG's.
I'm personally in the camp that it shouldn't. I think coins should be evaluated based on the normal characteristics of the issue. Weaker strikes were the norm for this issue and therefore should be acceptable...at least that's my opinion.
I just keep looking at the color. Maybe it's really wild color and we just cant see it in the images. I'll go with 63 and 67
Just to fill the time. It's an interesting coin. Some of the surfaces around the lettering have the look of a proof. Maybe it's PL.
Heavycam.monstervam is very tricky! As he does have a good eye....for coins. He always finds something different , So this one could be a tad bit on the eccentric ! Something Bizarre .......
The winner is: Paddy54 would technically be the winner, I've never seen a Walker with a star designation until today, on eBay there were 2 that sold recently, but , they were both 1 sided PL . Not sure why but this series isn't known to have many monster or rainbow toned coins, with most of the toned examples out there being below average to average at best Well thanks 4 playing
