Store your ammunition or other essentials securely with the Game Winner® Metal Ammo Can, which is made of cold-rolled steel for durability. A hinged lid with a cam latch allows secure closure, while a rubber gasket provides a tight seal. The box's low-profile handle is collapsible.

Great price. I worry about the paint they use. New they have a strong smell inside.

I probably wouldn't. You never know what kind of paint they used if there are any other chemicals in the construction that might release gases. These look new so I doubt they have ever stored any ammo...but I would probably still stay away.

That is a really good deal. Thanks for posting that! I just bought one and even had a 20 percent off coupon. It came to 12 something. Got a free flashlight with it also. I'm using it to store rolls in. I hope it's ok to use for that.

Now if it was 'olive drab' in the picture, I'd say you guys got something there. Worth a shot at storing rolls. :)

Its the "rubber gasket" that I would worry about more, as it will breathe as the lid is open and closed.

A few years back you could not find these and the price went way up. The supply is now more than caught up and the retail folks need to move they.

I buy and sell from the same importer that they use. The combo is a great deal. It's a 30 cal inside a 50 cal. They pay about $10 to $12 for the set, FOB China.

The ammo cans I have are ca. WWI (wood) and WWII metal. And yes, they had ammunition in them so no coins.

I've had some where the brass changed color. I have some M2 30.06 for my garand that came from Greece. It has someone interesting colors in the brass. Shoots fine though

I can't speak about the ones in your link, or any other "private" brand. But the ammo cans issued and used by the US military, that's another matter entirely. For one thing they actually are airtight when closed. For another I have used them for decades for storing ammo, and the brass shell casings, and the copper jacketed bullets themselves, stay as bright as the day they left the factory.

Now this is important for one reason, that brass is extremely susceptible to toning, tarnishing, much more so than silver but very close to that of copper. And even without any type of desiccant or attempt at humidity control, the brass, and copper, does not tarnish - at all ! I have seen cans of surplus ammo that were 30 years old when opened and the brass/copper was factory bright.

Now I've never used them for storing coins myself, but the condition of the ammo speaks volumes !

Wouldn't you be concerned that with real military ammo surplus cans because of what they have contained for so many years. Having stored ammo for decades...and all the chemicals it contains would concern me. Is that concern unfounded?

Now, I understand that these are new so that shouldn't be an issue.
