I just purchased this Gem Type 3 gold dollar. It is pedigreed to the D.L. Hansen Collection. Given the caliber of that famous collection, which tends to be very high-end coins, I never aspired to acquire any of Hansen’s castoffs on my lowly working-class salary. But here we are. It’s a pretty little thing. https://www.pcgs.com/cert/37566386 https://www.davidlawrence.com/dl-hansen-collection https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dell_Loy_Hansen
Damn a MS65 Super high end, congrats on that beauty! Btw, I just noticed your avatar, I'm amazed, when you get a minute can we see a pic of it??
Very nice, my Lord. Very clean look, and perfect color. And geez, you gotta love the Longacre Doubling throughout. Classic!
That’s a 1686 Saint Lambert’s communion token (mereau) from Liege in Belgium. Part of a big lot of such “skull & bones” tokens I got several years back. They’re super popular and I sold all of them, but held that piece back for my collection. PCGS later graded it XF45. And someone later twisted my arm hard enough to sell it, so despite having once owned a bunch of “skully” tokens, I’m now without a single one. But I keep my eyes on that Belgian firm’s auctions and hope to score another someday. I recently noticed @Randy Abercrombie was wearing his Halloween avatar: So in celebration of the season, I decided to wear my old “skully” for Halloween.
