Picked this up recently. She looks like the Joker from Batman

Ya know I didn't even think of that. The placement is scary close but hooks upwards instead of down

Could be a die crack, but it looks more like a strike through. Really cool coin. Unusual and really neat!!!

Are you serious MD? You must be joking as I know you know Morgan's better than that. Hell, I wish it was a crack rather than a wire strikethrough. It would be THE longest and widest crack in the entire series

Yeah, just pulling your leg. A die crack like that would have taken down the entire press! Great strike through, though. :) :)

So...... this HAS to be struck though a piece of wire right?

What's your guys' guess on what it would go for raw, I'm thinking $200 +/- Off the top of my head. Does that sound about right? Might get it slabbed. It's an easy 64 and a technical 65 if the strikethrough won't effect grade. I'm not sure if a large strikethrough like this in the focal area prevents anything above 64 though

You probably aren't far off price wise. I do think it is neat. Slabbing would probably add liquidity to the piece, but then again, with error attribution fees and stuff, it would eat up a significant portion of its value. I would probably keep it raw and enjoy it as something unusual and interesting.

Need to get it outta that 2x2 for imaging. :p

Is it me, or did the strikethrough affect the quality of the strike on the reverse? The breast looks sort of absent, but I don't know if that's just the cello.

Nope not the cello. That's either a separate strikethrough or the obverse strikethrough effected that area

My guess is that it was a thick wire and impeded the ability of the reverse die to produce a full strike.

I'm wondering about the mechanics of that in my head (I can't concentrate on nuthin' tonight :p ). The affected area of the reverse is opposite the ear/hair where the strikethrough is weakest, and intuitively it seems if anything a strikethrough would tend to help the reverse, not hinder it.

I had the same thought when I first saw it but that's as far as I got and haven't come back to it
