I got mine as well. Waited about 8 minutes before I got to order. The way I look at it is if I don't like it then I will just put it on eBay and maybe make a few bucks. I also did the $12.95 shipping option.
But-but-but if people weren't trampling each other to get them, and there weren't thousands of disappointed customers who couldn't get in, how will we know how much to jack up the prices on eBay?
I had forgotten about 1794 Silver Coin being offered to day. This afternoon, I was looking at the Schedule for today and figured there would be a rush to get one or more, so, I rushed to the Mint, thinking they would all be gone. Much to my surprise, there were still some available. I did something like that with the Gold Dime that was offered. however, they said they were out of them, but if I would put my info in with the gold dime, we may get some back. At lunch the next day, I thought I would look it up. I couldn't believe it. I got a message from the Mint asking if I still wanted it. Naturally, I just about wet my drawers. I tried to relax, but that was a big surprise. I didn't have it graded because I was afraid what I might find. When I finally did open the package and looked the coin over, it looked great in these old peepers of mint. I still didn't have it graded, but I have really enjoyed it, along with the gold quarter and gold half dollar.
I forgot all about this until I saw this post pop back up to the top. I just bought mine at 1:30PM with no problems.
It looks like it’s still for sale ………2.5 hours later. I am mildly surprised it wasn’t an instant sellout.
I'm guessing the Mint is (unpleasantly) surprised, too, after all they did to encourage a scramble (TWO levels of lucky scratch-off lottery, AND a one-per-household limit). Maybe the "blame" rests on the big online dealers, who apparently haven't been offering premiums for people to send them unopened boxes. The slackers.
Uh well I saw this one yesterday. My question is how many did NGC get? https://www.ebay.com/itm/365177899335?_trkparms=amclksrc=ITM&aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20211130125621&meid=c9884ba98c694a198c16cd49db18602d&pid=101465&rk=3&rkt=4&sd=126652294001&itm=365177899335&pmt=0&noa=1&pg=3650466&brand=U.S.+Mint&_trksid=p3650466.c101465.m3507
And what the hell is this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1163583396...zXHzpeoN54hIJZ7pgMsYDJTVbs|tkp:Bk9SR7KlppnSZA Says in hand ready to ship with a Privy mark. ANACS graded as well apparently...
Got mine about 10 minutes after they dropped. Had to wait in the que for 7 minutes due to traffic. They’re still available right now. I’m surprised people want the privy marked ones so bad.
I don't see how that's possible. Does the mint sell to dealers in advance? How would it get in an ANACS slab so quickly? Would that mean some of the 75,000 are already out there before today?
I believe there are some dealers who get advanced release. Sickening, ain't it? B Max Mehl all over again......
75,000 ain't a rarity though. These babys will be going for bullion value once the dust settles......
No 75k not a rarity but I ordered one anyway hoping for one with a privy I want to compare it to My DC 1792.. I'm betting like with the morgan DCs version turns out to be higher relief and greater detail coin/medal here's the DC coin
Interesting they were still available after and hour and half. I wonder if this is less hot of an offering than many people thought...
