If I have to say so myself this Theodore Roosevelt is a good-looking coin. As I have done in the past these new fines for me. Seem to start off with small chips and in couple of months from now no telling what will be finding. So here's my first one of the Theodore Roosevelt. It has a small chip on Theodore's hat. I remember when I found my first chip on a Cumberland gap. Now months later I have several chips along with several DDs. And since this Roosevelt has some very good artwork on the reverse, and Maybe interesting to see what start showing up. Please feel free if you find any errors in the Theodore Roosevelt please don't hesitate to show us on this thread. Please enjoy I know this is only the start.:blackalien: ct11-4-2.jpg ct11-4-4.jpg

I read about a month ago another member had found his first one. So far in this box I have found 4. Still have about 1500 quarters to go. I think Monday I'll go back to the bank and asked the manager to check the boxes of quarters he has in the vault to see if any of the boxes are the new Theodore Roosevelt. I'm on pretty good terms with the bank manager. In this bank has been good about whole boxes of the new issue quarters. They just have to know what boxes to look for. Because basically they just grab any box. Well thank you for your reply keep your eyes open. Please if you find any errors I would be happy to see them.:blackalien:

Thank you for your pics it's always nice to see what others have found. So far I have not come across any of these. Right now very few are in circulation down here or at least I haven't come across them yet. I think my branch bank is received another shipment of money. Have to go in and see if they have any boxes with holes in them. Those are the ones most likely to have all the same kind of quarters. The new ones that haven't been in circulation yet. Still have over 1200 Harpers Ferry's to go through in the box that I have. Again thank you for your pics. If anyone else finds any errors in this Theodore Roosevelt please feel free to post so we can all see them.SMC60U

I had bought a mint bag to go through. I've only gone through half, but about 90% of those had these chips in one form or another and some with multiple chips.

@usmc60 it looks like the first picture you posted in your second set may have the chip on the fringes of the left-hand glove. Or is that just the lighting?

Keep a good variety of each type and get rid of the rest.

I always knew Theodore had a chip on his shoulder. Yes it's a chip but it's the best we have the work with today.o_O:blackalien: WIN_20161204_09_13_25_Pro.jpg

The only problem down here in South Florida concerning these coins. Is that they're slowly coming out into circulation from what I can see. I have the manager and the tellers at my bank keeping an eye out for a box of these. But the few that I have found up till the time you posted the horses nose and the neck chip, I have recently started coming across a few of these. Here's a nice one I thought.USMC60 cti-6-td-1.jpg ct1-6-td-2.jpg cti-6-td-3.jpg

    Welcome to Coin Talk!
Unfortunetly, the doubling you are seeing is mechanical doubling (MD). The incuse letters on the edge make it look like a DD, but they are not. This is a hard one to learn, and the more coins you look at it will become more obvious.
Here are a few links that explains it well.
