I would like some honest opinions on this to see if I may have overpayed. I think I may have got to excited when I saw it. A grade and your high pay limit would be most welcome. Thanks to all who can help.
Giving it the benefit of the doubt that it hasnt been cleaned, probably dipped though, Id say somewhere around AU58. From your pics it looks like there is some rubbing on Liberty's cheek and neck.
It does have a tick /notch on the top, between we and trust. It may have been in a pendant type holder.
I had not notice the green tint. I thought it might ba reflection from my green desktop. retook photos blocking desk but the came out the same. The green is not noticable in hand. Thanks for your keen eyes.
I'd say AU details. It looks like it has been cleaned. Not sure if it's just the images or not. The green stuff does not look like PVC but rather the same kinda green haze you see develop on some of those Proof Ike's and other modern proofs.
I'd call it high EF details, cleaned. You paid a strong price for it, in my opinion. I'm not sure if the "green" we are seeing is actually PVC, or if it is dip residue that was improperly rinsed. Either way, it needs an acetone bath.
No disrespect, but I'm not seeing a Ch AU and certainly not an MS coin here, even if ignoring the apparent problems. EF details...
Pure acetone (as you can buy from a hardware store) safely removes PVC residue, oils, and the like, and anything that is adhered to them, without affecting the surfaces (or toning) of the coin.
In addition, @Brina may want to search old threads where the subject has been discussed at length if she wishes to familiarize herself with more than the very basics.
