Fake slab. The G is a different shape.

Is it normal for a small dealer to sell that many 1909-S VDB's just this year?

And the S seems to move from coin to coin.....

You have a different era slab. Regardless, I cannot find a slab with that "G".

09 s vdb are popular with everyday collectors and regular joes. He could be getting fakes and selling them off to people who have no interest in sending to TPG's. For other's they could simply be an investment coin they only think they know what they are buying and will find out the hard way when its too late.

Eww, geez...yeah, that's as much of a warning sign as anything else in the pictures.

I just had a email conversation with the seller. He seemed honestly surprised it was fake. Says he will try to get his money back.

Yeah right. If he hadn't edited out the grade maybe that would fly

It apparently sold for $1,600, at least according to the listing.

I have no idea what you are looking at. The original listing shows zero bids at $3000. However, it was relisted earlier today for $1350 still with zero bids.

Except that the grade is planely stated in the listing and is obviously shown on the slab. The number begins 3285.30. Having relisted it seems somewhat significant.

I'm so tired that I obviously have no idea what I'm looking at. G'night all!

Sure but the whole listing is suspicious on top of a counterfeit slab & coin. I guess maybe he wanted you to look at the listing instead of passing it by on a scroll but saying it looks high grade implying that pcgs would vf a slider is strike three anyway.

I seem to remember tha all authentic type 2 no D 1922 Lincolns display weak striking on the obverse due to exceptionally worn dies. The strong features on the head should have been a giveaway that something was not right with that coin in my opinion.

Compare the (R) position to any genuine PCGS slab. pcgs-fake-29824366.jpg

It appears eBay removed all of the relists (but not the original listing).
