http://www.ebay.com/itm/1922-Plain-...216626?hash=item237674b9f2:g:4L4AAOSw44BYFWpn I am 90%+ sure that is not a 1922 no "D" of any variety. That only leaves a fake slab IMO.
No photo, but the PCGS # is legit. http://www.pcgs.com/cert/29824366 It's graded VF30BN. Why did the seller hide the grade? He's fishing for suckers. I don't think it will get any bids with that starting price.
I know the number is legit, but I guarantee that is not a VF30 coin let alone a 1922 no "D". See http://www.ebay.com/itm/1922-No-D-S...840649?hash=item360cac1ec9:g:bZYAAOxyHQlSFPZR
Just curious, how would someone go about doing that? @rlm's cents is correct: FAKE COIN IN FAKE SLAB! .
Is the serial number supposed to be bold? I thought they weren't. Could be a less common holder type, but for some reason the font looks suspicious. Edit: @rlm's cents is right, it has the bump on the left wheat ear.
Note that the PCGS raised lettering in the bottom right corner of the slab actually says "PCGC" - the slab itself is just a Chinese-made lookalike that you can buy by the pack-full. There are also lookalike Chinese-made slabs that resemble those of other grading service companies. I've never seen the really good counterfeit slabs for sale in packs or empty all by themselves. Counterfeit graded/slabbed coins are very easy to come by, however.
Want me to post it at ccf and get it removed. Or should we contact pcgs first since the number is coming up legit.
He didn't say that, but only that he feels the logo looks correct and did so in response to a post claiming it said "PCGC".
The listing was ended, however looking at hit 100% feed back he sells some key and semi key coins. Quite a few of them....makes me wonder how many other bad slabs he's sold. Red flag only 200/300 Feed back selling key and semi key coins .
From the same seller. Unslabbed 1909-S VDB http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-S-V-D-...5004bb8&pid=100037&rk=1&rkt=1&sd=152311216626
