1988 p error dime ?

    I have recently found a 88 dime that i cant find any info on..can anyone tell me what it might be ?

    Arrrrrrrrrg! Tweezers on a coin. Never post a picture like that on Cointalk!

    Looks to be PMD - Post Mint Damage
    The edge was struck to fold over the field. You can see the struck lettering underneath. And the exposed copper is also evidence of damage.

    I only used the tweezers to get a better angle of the edge...i found this dime out of a roll from the bank we use at work..when you say "damage" from post mint is this coin worth saving or is it just a random dime that has no value in circulation ?

    First, welcome to the neighborhood!

    This dime is not worth saving. The damage was intentional after it left the Mint.

    FYI - There are self-locking plastic tweezers that can be purchased at JP's Corner that are intended to use for dipping coins and taking photos like this. They only cost a couple of bucks.
