I just got this in the mail today I probably paid a little to much for it but considering its already in a slab @ $9.50 I thought it was a good deal. The coin is really beautiful in hand with nice natural toning (I assume) The biggest reason I bought this coin is to get an Idea of how to grade Kennedy half dollars and with this as a learning tool I have done really bad because I have let many in much better condition slip through my hands. I'm a hands on kind of guy and there is no classes in my area that teach numismatics so i'll teach myself as long as it doesn't cost me too much lol. The pictures are the sellers photos please enjoy.
It is pretty , the spot on the reverse which I thought was black turned out to be the prettiest emerald green color.
its oxidation and in hand its not black its emerald green as far as affecting the grade I honestly not sure how it affects it I think as long as it doesn't cause loss of the surface it doesn't lower the grade. Some people love toned coins others steer clear of them. I like them but I think in the future they will turn black and be unappealing.
