    I can't wait 4 the reveal !!!
The guesses are all over the place, but when the dust settles and the smoke clears, I'm thinking I'll be the clear winner:cigar:
    My logic is undeniable

MS65 possibly PL but not sure about the obverse.

Remember, PL - isn't the frosted details - it is the Mirrored fields that designate it as such!

On that same sheet of music here.

I won't speak for Dave, but for me it's the character of how the reflection returns off the left side of the obverse that makes me think the coin doesn't reach PL. I don't even look at the devices when considering reflectivity.

A similar coin I once had, demonstrating what I'm talking about. It was brilliantly lustrous, probably only a few strikes from PL, but wouldn't have gotten there:

With all that said, if the coin is actually PL I won't argue. No way to be sure from images.

So you're inconclusive is your judgment on this coin? So in a little while when the sun comes up....I will re-shoot the obverse and reverse and post another view of the entire surface area of this specimen .

Exactly. It appears to have more of a cartwheel lustre, but it could just be the photo playing tricks. Looking forward to more images Paddy...:)

Let's see if these will do as using my phone's camera is difficult to get a shot that's not one sided due to the placement of the lens. 20161105_100414.jpg 20161105_095543.jpg

Now for some reasons I don't know the Reverse looks better in the image than the obv. both have the same fields in hand. Just can't get the lighting right to show on the images.
Next I am just about 100% sure of the Vam being a 95 have a look at the S on this monster. I've never had my scope unable to get the image of a MM spot on this one I had to try all sorts of tricks to get the image. It maybe caused by trying to shoot a mirror like surface. 1880 S S 1104 (2).jpg 1880 s s 1104 2 (2).jpg

If I take your word on the dash below the 8 - required for VAM-95, and I can't see it in the images - I'm still left thinking the doubling in your mint mark more resembles the 45/49/51/51A than 95. Is the MM tilted as hard right as it seems in these images?

I can't get past the abrasions on the cheek but I also seem to under grade these when I am able to blow the picture up huge.

My first impression was MS63 Proof Like.

There's a dash under the 8 and all the vams you have suggested have been ruled out by the process of going through the entire list of vams by pups. The mm may have taken a hit in the bag. IDK....but all the other have been eliminated one by one.

The lack of matching pick up points can't necessarily be used to rule out a vam

I will defer to the guy with the coin in his hand, then. Haven't we already had this conversation? :)
