Any idea how much this capped die strike quarter is worth?

I got this Louisiana quarter in a bag of foreign coins several years ago, and was told that it is a capped die strike. Does anyone have any idea how much it might be worth?

Capped Die Strikes do carry a premium. They are rare and I have seen them go for about $30.00 - $50.00 for raw Capped Cents and Nickels. I don't have a Capped Quarter if indeed it is what you have, so I imagine a little bit more.

Thank you for your information. I sent the pictures to the error editor at Coin World some years ago and was told "the coin has been clearly struck from an obscured obverse die" and that it was a "capped die strike".

It certainly presents the appropriate appearance for such an error. This would be an "old" cap, having been hammered against another planchet enough that it's begun to "mold" to the shape of the obverse die, and transfer features from it.
