I just couldn't help myself. I'm so ashamed. (But also amused).

Turns out this one is a 1880/79-S, VAM 9 Top 100! I purchased it as a regular 1880-S. Was an OGH MS64PL, but I cracked it and sent it in thinking it was a 65PL.

What you have to look for in the top 100 1880/79-S, VAM 8 and VAM 9 is the diagonal marks in the upper loop of the second 8.

A friend from VAMworld picked this one up and passed it on to me as it was a hole in my 83-O set. It's the NGC 45 at the bottom of the price history list for VAM-22A. This hobby would be boring without good friends who enjoy the same, right?:)

Is that a hair inside the slab on the 80-s or a slab scratch?

It's actually a hair on the outside of the slab. Good eye, I didn't even see it until you mentioned.
