Great catch! Glad you snagged it for such a bargain.

Me too, at the same auction I also won this Afsharid Gold Ashrafi of Shah Rukh (minted in Mashhad sometime between 1750 and 1755) for 400 CHF:

It would have went for much more in Heritage Auction. They would have slabbed it as MS-63.

Yes, but then I wouldn't have bid on it.

Unfortunately I am not, 7500 GBP = 8881 EUR + 22,5% buyer premium = 10879 EUR, and since the Coin Cabinet is based in the UK, there is also the risk of 25% VAT having to be payed on top of that, so even the starting bid is too high for me.

My focus is on winning the gold coin of your hero, if I don't win it now, it will probably be a long time before another one in good condition comes to auction.

    Thank you.

    I have a coin of Saladin: https://auctions.thecoincabinet.com...av-dinar-anacs-ef45-weight-in-holder-provided

Where did you see a coin of Hannibal? While there are many coins that were minted during his rule, I am not aware of any that depict him.

Most coins on your list are over 5K/ but I think you will always be happy to get each one. I just got that AV Pavillion d'or Aquitaine from Wessex Coins for 17K UK Pds. I can pay it over three months/ so sell some butterflies! Nomos has some nice gold coins.

I have no butterflies (I hate bugs), but maybe I will manage to sell some real estate over the coming year and thus increase my coin budget.
