This isn't an entry because there are more deserving people out there. But, I just wanted to thank you, Sallent, for your gesture of generosity. We need more generosity in this world. It's so awesome to see such kindness happening here! I hope to be more generous and compassionate with those I encounter. Sallent and Ancient CT members ftw! Erin
Dear soon to be sued Cointalk Member Calling lawyers ambulance chasers is defamation. We are liars, used car salesmen apprentices, shady, and corrupt politicians in waiting...but we most definitely do not chase ambulances. We can't, we are too fat from sitting behind our desks counting our money and planning world domination. If you are too thin and have the stamina to chase ambulances, you are doing it all wrong. You are hereby ordered to stop making any comments that will damage the stellar reputation as con men, slimy lizards, and soulless bloodsuckers that lawyers enjoy. We take that reputation very seriously, and will do anything to protect it. Now excuse me while I engage in my other daily hobby, stealing candy from unsuspecting babies. Sincerely, Sallent, Esq. King of Legal Satire
Well, upon as close an inspection as a photo will allow, I believe that dolphin is a distant relative. Very, very distant. So, I'd sure like to reunite the family. Steve
Update: So far I have entries for Insider, jwitten, dougsmit, Mat, treashunt, Kentucky, ValiantKnight, and Steaverino. If you made an entry and I missed your name let me know.
Firstly, the dolphin is not fat. It’s fluffy. It’s easy to decide who wins the dolphin, just flipper coin! Philip II from Deultum (and by extension all Philip II coins) may not have acted with the same morals as a modern day Western leader. Therefore, Steve6x might be prohibited from receiving the Philip II dolphin coin because he might be considered a Canadian miner crossing state lines for immoral porpoises. I wish to apologize for writing this post. Please give the fluffy dolphin coin to a deserving numismatist (not me).
I've been doing research on efficiencies in modern gift-giving, and it turns out that the gifts that produce the best results for all involved are those that are given to me (which is a bit of a coincidence, I'll admit). I was all set to say I'll give it to my nephew, who I think would love it (he just learned about Julius Caesar and Octavian), but he's eight and the coin isn't a junker and responsible-for-an-eight-year-old or not, eight-year-olds sometimes lose tiny nice things.
My post was just for humor, not an actual entry. I'd rather someone who really wants it to have it. Thanks though!
Because I would like to branch out into ancients, but my knowledge of them has been measured, and found wanting, perhaps this coin could be a great jumping in point. Besides that I like dolphins, and believe that they have more intelligence than most other mammals. ( including some humans ) + I think you are cool to do something this generous.
I should get the coin because everyone else that is entering this contest told me that they don't really want it, and if they win it they will sell it to buy a Hitler artifact.
I find not being able to apply for the only reason I live in France is discriminatory towards me and unrespectful of my inalienable and elementary rights ! I thus have to face the fact of not being a member of this community in full part which implies a moral disadvantage. For those reasons I could sue Mr Sallent to court and ask a 2 millions $ for pecuniary damage I might also accept that wonderful coin as a compensation Q PS : Should I win the contest (which I doubt), I would like the prize to be given to someone of your choice (living in the USA or Canada) on my behalf @Sallent, it's a very kind and generous action on your part, and the coin is really nice (cool dolphin overall) Q
@Sallent , I too am sure to be unworthy but we'll consider this an entry to your most generous giveaway. I hope to be posting here and perhaps doing my own giveaway in October of '17 as it was just last month when I acquired my second ancient. I lurk here everyday and it seems these coins are indeed like some mystical addictive potion - I received 3 ancients in the mail today and just won another. I'm certain most all would be considered by the group here to be common, but truth be told they are all rare in my eyes as the history of each I hold seems priceless. -d
I should win because all others that answer this secretly told me that you are mean, but I defended you and told them that you are not mean.
