Man, the more I look at this thing the more I like it! You suck @DysfunctionalVeteran!! Was this an eBay find or a local B&M pick-up?
This was an ebay find. On a usual day I will search the listings twice for anything new. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
I will share the wealth. Theres a raw cracked 1921 planchet on on ebay right now. It looks AU in my opinion. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
I don't know about @Cascade, but I've been trying with a fair bit of success (occasional breaks of a month or so for real life) to look at every single 1921 Morgan on Ebay and other major auction houses for the last ten years, and if that can be determined to be an actual strike through a delamination it would be safe to say I've never seen anything remotely close to it.
Once i get it in hand can i send it back to NGC and request they evaluate it for a detached lamination strike through? The sellers BIN price was $500. From trying to sell items myself ive seen its common practices to offer half so I did. They countered at $350 and i jumped head first. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
You do know who you bought that from right? Look to the right of your screen and scroll to the top just above "Recent Topics".
You look at way more listings than I do. My 83p is currently at anacs to be labeled correctly and it's just a few denticles of a delamianated strikethrough. Nothing like this. That one is the first I've seen, this is the second and it's massive!
I shot an email off to the folks at Collectors Clearinghouse to see if they'd like to examine the coin and write an article as a delamination strikethrough. If they are interested I'll be certain to drop this website as an influencing factor in my purchase.
Arrange for some high-quality imaging, so you don't have to send them the coin, or put it in the hands of one of the expert columnists.
