Nice, I posted pics of mine earlier in the post. Mine has some incuse ridges in the denticles and I see yours has some ghosting as Cascade says in the stars.

Interesting to think that each restrike has its own unique character, very cool.

Love it. The ghosting makes it even more desirable. I can't wait to get mine. This coin is even more exciting than many real Morgans that I have owned. Bravo to Daniel for a very artistic restrike fantasy issue.

That is okay--- we all get passionate sometimes. We are coin collectors, and the nature of the hobby tends to make us rather intense about that which we tend to love, and collect enthusiastically. We are cool!

If he does a PL or a DMPL, I bet five bucks I cave in.

Does anyone else find it odd that he doesn't do proof style strikings? I wonder if there are technical reasons for it.

I tend to like the look of brilliant satin strikes.
But I have done quite a few proof-like issues over the years, such as these:

What is "ghosting?" It looks like remnants of the Morgan he overstruck to me.

That's the term which has been adopted to describe what you see - the "ghost" of the old coin. Personally, I'm ambivalent about it.

Oh, I see. Thanks. It's like that poor coin is calling out from the grave after it was murdered and made into a token! ARGH!

FWIW, if I was going to own one of these, I'd want one like this, where you can see the old date and coin beneath it. Makes it interesting and less static.

More like a Phoenix rising from the ashes of a cull bin ;)

Pat yourself on the back all you want, but there's no such thing as a Phoenix. :woot: Hope he notified the Mint and TPG's on all these Morgans he used so they can lower their survival estimates.
