Hit up a few banks today that I hadn't visited in awhile.

    Bank 1: $10.50 loose halves - 2 x 40%

Bank 2: $20 CWR halves (hand-made rolls) - one roll all clad, one roll had 10 40%ers

    Banks 3-6 - $25 loose halves - all clad

Bank 2 said there might be more available but the teller who had them was at lunch. Sent my fiancee over (bank is down the street from her work) and she picked up $53 more that I haven't seen yet.

Yeah she doesn't know what she's talking about.
It's simple, though - go to a different bank.

You can order bags of NEW coins from the us mint, but I'm guessing this isn't what you're after.

One of my banks recently told me the same, plus recommended I get coin direct from the courier, which is almost impossible for the average person.

Time to pull your funds from Bank A, and take them to Bank B. Do this when you have confirmed Bank B will order the amount of coins you want to order each week.

So here's what I'm interpreting. A long time ago one of my banks cut me off. They said I can order rolls of old coins from coin shops and through usmint.gov. When they figured out why I was roll hunting they cut me off. In my opinion she gave you a load because they did not want to help you out in your hobby. She was basically saying if you want old coins you have to pay a premium. Just shake it off Robert, you will find another bank that is willing to help. I have had many banks deny ordering coins for me but I also have plenty of banks that are glad to help. Good luck and happy hunting!

Almost feel bad posting my results from yesterday knowing how difficult it is for many to find silver. I had six Loomis boxes from two branches, still have five to pickup today and tomorrow. I have had tremendous blessings recently since about the first of August after a string of about 18 skunks. I increased the number of boxes I search every week hoping to work through the local Loomis inventory. I don't know if I have just dug deeper into their stock but yesterday was the biggest score in total coins from a single box. I have seen a few coins have a So two of the boxes were skunks but four were definitely a collection dump. They are all 65-69, and one 1976s.

Box 1 was the most productive, 120-40s( there were ten Enders, each roll had at least one silver, many half the roll was silver)
    Box 2,3 and 4 produced, 90-40s image.jpg

Total score yesterday was 31 ounces, 210-40% Kennedys!

I pick up two boxes today, not sure if it will be in the same silver vein but I'll let you guys know.

Checked the remaining $53 my lady picked up for me yesterday - two more 40%. The other rolls weren't the hand-made type that I got yesterday. Lots of AU/BU 76's I can re-sell, otherwise average circulated stuff.

    Two boxes halves: 2-90% (1964); 12-40%; three proofs (1978-S, 1981-S, 2001-S).

Not "Truble" level finds, but pretty good.

Last five boxes from Loomis were all skunks. I'll continue with my strategy of 10+ boxes a week, but thinking I have run the vein dry until I catch the next collection dump.

    $10 mixed CWR/MWR pennies: 1940, 1941, 1946, 1948, 1953 (x2), 1954, 1955, 1957, 1958 (some luster)

    Also 1 x 2009, 5 Canadians (all 70s or newer, avg circulated), 1969-S, two AU/BU 1966's

    $16 mixed CWR/MWR nickels: 1939, 1940 (x3), 1947, 1954-S, BU 1969-D, 1983 Canada

Nothing really great in this batch - just a few things to throw in various jars

I was finally able to place an order for halves. I'll pick it up next week. My last order from this location yielded my best finds out of a total of over 100 boxes I've searched from a variety of cities in the US, so I'm mildly optimistic.

    Good luck everyone!
