If anybody is interested, Istra Numizmatika will hold an auction of papal coins and medals next month: https://one.bid/en/auction/-/6572
This is on auction: https://auctions.cngcoins.com/lots/...ucati-40mm-2898-g-12h-dated-1794-ga-ngc-ms-61
CNG has rare coins/ grades very strict. I have one Byzantine Empire (THeodora AV Tertaron) I want for my coll.
Yes, I like CNG's auctions, they more or less always have at least several interesting coins on auction, plus they import to the EU through the Netherlands, so instead of paying 25% VAT to the communist moochers here, I pay 9% VAT to the Netherlands, the only downside is that probably the vast majority of serious collectors have an account there, therefore you are unlikely to grab a bargain (I have managed only 1 so far, when I won the Ottoman Gold Sultani of Suleiman I for 375 USD). I wish you luck, my goal is to try and win the Roman Republic Gold 60 Asses (https://auctions.cngcoins.com/lots/...08-bc-av-60-asses-14mm-336-g-11h-rome-mint-ef). I have already been outbid on the Probus Gold Aureus (https://auctions.cngcoins.com/lots/...-cyzicus-mint-3rd-emission-ad-280-282-good-vf), so feel free to bid on it if you are interested, I won't place anymore bids on it.
I hope you get the 60 Asses/ real nice ex. I lost one that was FDC in Artemide auction. I bid 6K euros/ it solf for 10K.
Thank you. There are two other 60 Asses coins and one 20 Asses coin being auctioned right now: https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/l...-208-bc-ngc-ms-strike-35-surface-35-hairlines https://www.biddr.com/auctions/nomisma/browse?a=4811&l=5798246 https://www.biddr.com/auctions/nomisma/browse?a=4811&l=5798247
I remember you mentioning that you are missing this coin in your collection: https://www.numisbids.com/n.php?p=lot&sid=8313&lot=62
Thanks I may go for that one There are tons of coins coming up in Aug/ Sept. With me its always the same problem/ lack of $$$$$ Once my car is paid fully/ I can get more nice coins. Its heavy rain here. May get my first day off since April!
This was minted in what is now Croatia: https://auctions.cngcoins.com/lots/...-illyria-issa-circa-344-300-bc-26mm-1715-g-5h
I won this Roman Billon Antoninianus of Probus (minted in Siscia in 279) at the Coin Cabinet auction yesterday:
Maybe this will be of interest to collectors of modern coinage: https://www.numisbids.com/n.php?p=lot&sid=8340&lot=304
This Aureus from the Siscia mint is up for auction: https://auctions.cngcoins.com/lots/...mm-574-g-6h-siscia-mint-struck-ad-293-near-ef
No, I am not, feel free to bid on it, the price is already above what I would be willing to pay for it, and since I have 5 active bids at various actions, I don't plan on bidding on any expensive coin until those bids are settled.
Too bad that Vlad Tepes "the Impaler" did not strike gold coins. He was the Medieval version of Josef Stalin. Another evil ruler Timur the Lame did strike gold Dinars/ last example sold at Numismatique Genevensis for 120K. There are beautifull AV 5 Dukats from Wallachia "Michael the Brave" mucho $$$$$.
