Is this your recourse rather than pursue legal action. It appears all you want to do is yip, yip, yip. If DC refuses to sign his overstrikes with copy or whatever, which I suspect he will continue to do, your recourse seems to be more talk and no action. I don't see any of this continuous nipping, yipping or snipping to be changing anyone's views. It's all background noise.

Feel free to put me in your rear view mirror then, robec. But I will keep speaking my mind here and everywhere because those are my beliefs.

See, this is why I try not to argue with you. I appreciate the points you make.

My overall problem with this whole thing is that the laws are dumb and what I believe to be another example of government wanting to be involved in everything. Let me ask, if these laws didnt exist, would there even be a discussion here? Probably not. Now how many pieces did he sell just from this thread alone? I bought one because of this thread and it sounds like others have as well. So lets just say for a moment that these laws dont exist and this discussion isnt happening. Look at how many pieces he didnt sell cause this thread doesnt exist.

My point is, capitalism is a beautiful thing. No one is making anyone buy any of his stuff. And if not enough people buy his product he goes out of business and the problem solved itself. Same with that Asian making the same fantasy pieces.
But once again big brother had to come in and hold all our hands and give us more rules on how to play the game.

Now if im Daniel Carr reading this thread im really excited about all the free publicity and product im selling. So by stating all this lawyer lingo and law talk, people against him are actually just helping him. And now, until big brother steps in and makes their final judgement and of course adding even more laws to follow, everybody here, myself included, is fighting a battle in which no one wins except Mr Carr.

Now if im Mr Carr, im hopeing @C-B-D keeps talking. You are probably his number one salesman.

Oh wow, golly gee. I have seen the light! Oh, the error of my ways! Forgive me, friends, please! Oh no... I can't believe I didn't agree with DC's yes-men! I hope I haven't hurt y'all's feelings! :bag:

Unlike most of the anti-Carr folks on the interwebs, I could care less about his fame and profit margin. More power to him. I simply think he should sign his work and eliminate the potential for a scammer to empty someone's wallet.

Keep using sarcasm. Youll get your point across much easier that way

Do you feel the same should apply to everything discussed on DISCUSSION boards? Should mouths be closed when it comes to actual counterfeits in favor of quiet legal action? How about eBay or a majority of other oft-discussed subjects? How about questionable mint releases; should everyone simply keep their opinions to themselves, or is it just with Carr that you feel this way? Need I go on?

Oh, and that's great you want to buy more; hop to it. In nearly every Carr thread someone says this very same thing, as if they're the slickest thing since sliced bread, the first think of it, and as if it's going to send those on the other side running for cover. If these discussions benefit his business, that's great and he's most certainly welcome, but doesn't change the fact that no one cares.

I'm not sure "most" is a fair assessment. In fact, I cannot think of anyone who does care, at least the non-fan regulars on this board. It's a deflective argument intended to hopefully quiet critics, nothing more or less.

Sarcasm? I'm super serious. You guys are dead-on right. This yippy dog has been beat. (But I did buy these REAL Morgans a week or so ago). 2016-10-26 17.54.55.jpg 2016-10-26 17.54.20.jpg

Those threads don't attract nearly as much attention or controversy as any threat that carries Daniel Carr's name. These threads always portray him as public enemy #1. With all this going on for the past 6 or 7 years I would have expected at least one of the anti-overstrike non-copy compliant group members to have actually filed a legal complaint rather than all the lip service and ankle bitting. The pro Carr overstrike group is not changing the way the thinking of the opposition and the opposing side is not changing the minds of the overstrike backers.

The worst of it is, these threads are always started by someone who just wants to live "collect what you like" and discuss that interest with like-minded collectors. Nobody who enjoys Carr's work fails to understand that it isn't for everyone. But inevitably, the usual swarm of gnats shows up to spoil the picnic.

So I skipped most of the argument posts, but here's my 2 cents worth.

If the Secret Service has not arrested Mr. Carr, then there is nothing illegal going on. Mr. Carr advertises his product plain as day, and if the Secret Service felt that there was any issue, the Moonlight Mint would have been shuttered pretty damn fast.

As it is, the MM is still going strong, Mr. Carr is not in prison, so I think we can all safely say that he's FINE in the eyes of the law.

Legalities aside, I enjoy looking at Carr's pieces. But Mr. @C-B-D has posted what I really like.:woot:

I was scrolling through Mr. Carr's website and there are some products that he signs with a DC in place of the mintmark, such as this:
    http://www.moonlightmint.com/blog_2.htm

I'm not sure if this is what you mean't by "sign his work".

But even so, counterfeiters will have a fake signature anyways.

I know he has signed much of his work. But not all, which is what I'd like him to do. But ah well...
