Hi Everyone, hope you are all doing well . Could you please take a look and see if there is an error on my dollar bill ! thanks
Not an error of any kind. Looks like it sat in someone's wallet for a while and got wet. Hence the ink bleed.
I agree with SensiblSal66, except I think it may have been wet with some solvent stronger than sweat or water, although given enough time sweat can be a pretty good solvent.
As you can see by the food in the center and on each side of the bill it has been folded in half, and in half again. At some point the bill got wet and the ink was transferred firming the blob on the left side. Please take notice that the right side of the bill has part of the serial numbers backwards. This was transferred from the left side of the bill. This is not an error of any kind but damage.
Hi everyone, I'm new to the topic of collectibles and numismatics, so I would really appreciate some help. Today, I went to exchange some old US dollar bills (20 USD and 50 USD denominations from 1950, 1963, 1969, and 1985 series) for euros at a currency exchange office, but they told me the bills might have some collectible value. Unfortunately, I don’t know where to have them appraised or what their value might be. I’m attaching photos of the bills to show their condition. Could someone recommend a good place to get them evaluated, or provide some insight into whether these bills might actually be worth anything as collectibles? Thank you in advance for your help and advice!
Hi and welcome to CT. Not sure about collector value as condition is everything with paper money. Best to take to a coin shop near you.
Welcome to CT! Collecting Nut is right, provided you live somewhere where you can find an honest dealer. (Most are, some are not.) You will get more views and possibly better answers if you start your own thread rather than tack this to another thread.
