I was hoping for laser eye FDR… but yeah there’s raised metal. PMD.

Once the collar is deployed it contains the planchet from bulging during strike. The coin in question is bulging at the point of damage making it displaced metal after the strike.

There are faint trails of it on the reverse. I think it's PMD.

The problem with concluding anything from the "bulge" is that the image is cropped rather haphazardly around the coin, so as I said earlier I'd rather have uncropped images to evaluate, especially in that area. And an image of the edge. The consensus is PMD, so be it.

  7. Thank you all for your help, after reading all the comments I looked closer at the coin and believe that it is probably damage as the grooves are both raised and indented into the coin.

As far as taking pictures I purchased a Tomlov Microscope that allows me to take photos but I don't know how to take a picture other than the way I did, if anyone can explain how I might take better pictures such as the ones requested.

Again thank you for all your answers and future help.

This is what I do. Take a mason jar or similar, place cell phone on it just about 4-6 inches from coin that's sitting on a plastic bottle top. That's about the gist of it. Here is a diagram:
