I had to stop and restart the AWS EC2 instance for VAMWorld yesterday. As a result, the IP address changed. When that happens, it takes the internet a day or so to figure that out. Meanwhile, these links should work: Wiki: http://ec2-18-221-104-31.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/wiki/Home Forums: http://www.vamworld.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4 Saved links and bookmarks that have "ec2-13-58..." in them need to change to "ec2-18-221-104-31..." I'll try and figure out what happened over the next few days.
Ain't The Cloud great? Saves us from having to worry about all the details of system administration. Except when it doesn't.
Enough money saves you from having to worry about details of system administration. The cloud saved me from having to buy, configure, and maintain the hardware I'd need before installing the packages needed to run VAMWorld (MediaWiki, phpBB, mySQL), and that's good enough for me. Hopefully I can figure out the root cause of the latest issue.
