Yes, I've been dreaming again! I received a letter in the mail a little while ago from the Town where I live. They are totally re-paving two roads, one on my street and the other on the road nearby. So, you know the idea I have? Oh, most of the houses on my street were built in 1959 by the way. Yes, again. Metal Detect the dirt after they've finished for the day is. No permits needed in my town that I know of.
Maybe some coins that are Silver maybe? Calling @paddyman98! What do you think? biggrin.gif

And if they dump dirt on my property then that's even better. You never know what I'll find. I'll have to dig up "the old girl" (metal detector)....Hmmm???

I used to find some cool stuff when the city replaced a street. Even better when they ripped up the old brick sidewalks.

The guy that was in a beer barrel in Giant's Stadium. Maybe it got too noisy for him and he moved to a nice quiet area in Connecticut.

Sal, this statement suggests that there was a period that you were not dreaming, which I find implausible......when you stop dreaming, you die (figuratively).

I like the plan...go for it! :singing:

Now I'm thinking of that body they found in a barrel when Lake Mead dried up. Hope all you find is coins!

I believe they actually found three of them in Lake Mead.

True, but the one in the barrel was clearly the result of a "hit." Not sure about the others.

We're getting a basketball hoop installed and they piled up the dirt they dug out. I was bagging it up to throw it away and noticed a coin, a 1971 penny. It was so funny because I wasn't searching through the dirt or looking for anything, and I already metal detected my yard. This sort of thing happens to me.

I know a guy that worked for the city. He would go metal detect areas that the city was developing and found a ton of old silver and circulated clad.
He did a park playground pit and had a quart mason jar full.
After that he said it wasn't very rewarding because every two inches was another coin.
He would have been better off with a shovel and sifter.
    Good luck.
