So everyone was close to what I came up with too. I got 31x 90% and 7x 40%. There's 9 Ikes in the lot too. So this is what I got total in melt/face: 31x 90% @ 11.11 ea. = 344.41 7x 40% @ 4.54 ea. = 31.78 Remaining 128 Halves @ face = 64 9 Ikes @ face = 9 Total: $449.19 value. And maybe the box is cool. I bid $300 + BP = $372. Auction closes in 6 days. I'll check it out closer to the close date and see where it stands.
I think all $ value percentages should be reduced by 10%, to account for wear and melt costs, and sales tax, etc. Using 90% and 40% is generous.
You're playing a dangerous game here, IMHO. I think 31 90% is the best-case outcome, but I expect that more than half of those "white-edge" coins will turn out to be 40%. No, I can't be sure -- but when I can't be sure, I assume the worst case for bidding. But I also think there's a good chance someone will be even more optimistic, and outbid you. Here's hoping I'm wrong on all counts!
I lost it - got outbid. It went for $325 + BP, so a little over $400. I probably would have bid once more to $350, but I was in a meeting with a client when it closed.
