Would that by chance be a 1983-P? If so it is called a Spitting Eagle. Can you post a picture of the Obverse?

Look out for the 1977 "hocking up a loogie" eagle quarter.:D

Sir Kurt by any chance do you have the picture of the "hocking up a loogie" eagle quarter?

There is also a '78 "noogie" Eagle that has knunkle marks on his head.

Just to be clear of my intent, I find the whole concept of the endless parade of insignificant "varieties" a little hard to take seriously. For anyone who caught my 1971-D Kennedy thread, I wasn't really serious about the "Nessie Headed Eagle" half dollar variety, either. I'm just poking fun at those who might.

Anyway, if I go to all the trouble to create a 1977 "Loogie" quarter, you can bet it'll come with digitized sound effects on an imbedded chip.

I've been an avid collector for well past 50 years now, and I find quite a bit of what the coin hobby does these days to be "dumb as a bag of hammers".

I see this post is really old but I have a question, maybe someone here can help. I’m really new to all of this but I was trying to find info on a quarter I have and this post came up.
I’m seeing flowers on the edge of this coin by OP and I see them on my quarter too. As well as the “spitting eagle”. I can see this in all of the quarters around this same year. I can also see a “D” (possibly word dime) and a 3, amongst other things. Almost like a hologram but some of it is raised off the quarter. Is this normal? Did they have a lot of clash errors? Some I realize may be from gum ball machines. (Like a giant 25 seems etched into it). Thanks in advance! I’ll also post on a separate thread as well.
