Three point shot, followed by a 'steal' and a quick layup........that's the only way that I can figure out how to get FIVE.........

Why wouldn't it be allowed to post a direct link to a coin-related site?

Did you just break the Doug's rule about giving a "like?" Or is he the only holdout among the Mods?

I don't think it's 'not allowed'. Links have been posted in the past. Peter ain't shaking in his boots. The folks that run the other forum?.......they're real anal retentive.

Why indeed? I've posted about how good CT is on other forums. It is the same as saying nice things about TPGS on a competitors site.

I cannot speak for the other mods but I give them all the time. My way of saying I like your post without gumming up a thread with such posts.

Some people just like to stay far away from anything that might be construed as an issue, even if it isn't.

If I had a nickel for every emoji you used, I could buy all my dream coins, and retire now.

Well, keep dreaming. I'm afraid you would be very disappointed as you would not be able to buy much at all. :sorry:

I just spent three hours on and off during TV commercials counting all the "little friends" I've used for emphasis since joining CT. At five cents each, you would have $31.15. Oh, $31.20 counting the one above. :p Now, $31.25. :D $31.30.

That's 626 emojis, and 5210 posts. ~0.120153551 emojis per post.

I think Insider is pretty light with emojis. :joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful:

:shame: Perhaps I was VERY loose with the accounting. Truth be told, I guess you would have closer to $1000 to spend. Now, I'm curious and wish I had actually counted them.

    Contest time
: How many emojis (spelling?) has Insider used since he joined? And the winner is....who really cares. I would post this as a contest just to find out and offer a great numismatic prize EXCEPT I would need to actually count them to see who won. :(

Any member is free to edit his/her own posts. :) You will have noticed that, if a mod edits a post, the note will say "Last edited by a moderator: (...)". In this case, TJ modified his message, so it says "Last edited: (...)"

It's all explained in here - https://www.cointalk.com/threads/best-answer-feature.253657/ - but you need to read the entire thread.

I think the point Mike was trying to get across to you is that the PCGS forum has a long, long, history and very well known reputation of banning pretty much anybody who dared to make a post criticizing PCGS. Even posting something like - "they over-graded that coin" - has been known to get people banned. And the number of times that this has happened are too numerable to count.

Two requests for links within 28 minutes, in that time Google was far faster.

Nope, no trouble, except look at your second post, "Post a link to it!" was not exactly a polite request for information.

    normally yes, here, no.

Not true Mike. I have absolutely no problem with posting links to other forums, in fact I myself have posted links to the NGC and PCGS forums. And other members do it, I won't say all the time, but it happens often enough that it's common. If memory serves the last time was just a few days ago.

Well I didn't spell it out in great detail, but it is in the Rules.

NOTE - Coin Talk has an infraction system. Break the rules and you may, or may not, based on the moderator's discretion, be given an infraction for rule violations. Infractions carry points, and those points stay with you for a given period of time - again discretionary. Anyone who acquitres 10 points is automatically banned from Coin Talk. That ban may stay in effect for a limited period of time, again discretionary, or it may be permanent - meaning you will be banned forever.

But I have explained it in great detail several times in various posts and threads. As I say in the quote from the Rules, it's discretionary. Infractions may carry no points at all, 1 - 2 - 3 - or whatever the mod happens to think is appropriate for the situation at hand. Up to and including 10 in extreme cases.

There is no "rule". Not giving Likes is merely my own personal choice, and I have explained why numerous times.

The community on CU is great. The forum website was and still is pretty bad.
