Coin was giving to me as a gift! Is this a real piece of gold? Couldn't find much! All help appreciated. This coin is smaller than a dime.

There are quite a few things wrong IMO to be a real fractional. I would wait and see what others have to say. I don't know these coins at all.
It doesn't appear to be an authentic California gold token, as they usually have the denomination on them, but you should definitely have it tested. Some of those are made of 9 karat gold!
Curious what you find out about its metal content. Not one of the actual California Fractional piece I don't think, but a number of these tokens were made contemporarily and after the fact and some are actual gold.
Yes, I contacted others they said it a Fractional piece. Im s till gonna get it checked out! I did find a simular piece!
