I am a member of both (and a few more), and have always mainly used cointalk. The new site is now much better for them though. Posting pictures used to be like pulling teeth!
I really like the BEST ANSWER option that we have here, but it just doesn't seem to get used. I suspect people don't use it because they're not comfortable picking it until there are more answers to consider within the thread than existed when they were posting themselves.
Here's some food for thought: Would they allow a thread like this on CU if the tables were turned??? Just another reason why I like it here better.
I don't know if it even works. I've used it for giggles and it never works. Maybe you need 2 or more to choose it or maybe by clicking it a mod decides whether it should be the best answer or not ??
Actually, at this time CU members are posting likes and dislikes about the changes. Constructive criticism works every time it's tried.
I should think the mods see how many votes an answer gets from members and if it is even worthy as a best answer. I gave out a vote once. @GDJMSP can answer this.
NO MORE MR. NICE GUY... Since you wish to twist the posts, try this one: If I were king, I should feed the political dissidents, repeat offender convicts, suspected terrorists, and our crooked politicians to the alligators on Pay-per-view to clear out the National Debt. PS And I would decide who goes. PSS And I should monitor podcasts too.
How many points get us banned for a week. Do Mods give them in different denominations? Like can you get one point, two points, or are they "awarded" in fives? Can you say or is it a secret?
I am twisting nothing. You said that constructive criticism works every time. I was merely pointing out that it doesn't. If you want to monitor a podcast, I know of one on coins and coin collecting that I think is quite worth listening to.
I was making a point to @Treashunt He seemed to be giving me an attitude just because I was asking for a link to Collectors U! I never heard of CU before. I guess it was to much trouble for him to post it. True, I should have googled it myself.
The Coin Show podcast - www.coinshowradio.com or you can click on the big box on the right of this page, and it will take you there directly.
I think he was a bit amazed, and maybe a bit put off that the owner and mods in this forum would allow people to openly discuss and post links to another forum as they are doing nothing short of paying for people to advertise a competing forum. He probably also figured that the mods would not allow the posting of a direct link, hence the google post.
