I agree completely: crazy eye appeal with the colour popping out at us! Guess that's why I only go for EPQ when possible. Here's a 1935 English $20 from the Bank of Canada. It's a PMG VF35 EPQ I (happily) picked up nearly a decade ago: (I lost the scan of the entire note with the PMG holder). BoC used green planchettes as a security device. I have discovered that only the best EPQ notes will clearly show these planchettes well. Pressed notes seem to show them dulled, faint green (or compromised in some way).
Beautiful note...Canadian Paper is really a snapshot of their country. Sorry I sold my collection off a few years back.
@ Tall Paul You had to plant a seed....lol. my 1953 $10 silver certificate set just added this one to the set of fancy numbers as well better series . 01 03 1947 a neat birth date note. The first image is the new addition, second images another member of the set.

-Thanks @Paddy54 (It pretty much blew my budget for the next year or 2 but I'm glad I "pulled the trigger" as they say) But you don't have to break the bank to get some pretty topnotch World notes these days. Here's 3 popular notes from Portugal I picked up recently:
They're lovely & in great condition too! I really like notes from Cuba (& Mexico & any nation really... ) Here's my most recent ABN Co printed note from Costa Rica (10 Colones from the 70's):
@Paddy54 very nice adds! I still want to get the 2000 Colones from Costa Rica. I did pick up this 5000 a short while ago: And I got a couple of the older Mexican series from Allen's Coins a few years back, including this 5 Pesos from 1961:
Both superb examples...and funny you post the gyspy note as I was just admiring one on line this week.
Thanks! I wanted a couple of those gypsy notes but my order had already reached my limit. Here's a couple others I got in that order from Allens:
Some recent acquisitions: Just really like elephants, and something about the safari vehicle just speaks to me somehow. Working on collecting the last of the old (1905-1991) peso banknotes. Only a few left, mostly the high denomination ones. Not much to say except the scene on the obverse of this one is the kind of thing that makes me want to collect banknotes in the first place. Why don't more banknotes have planes on them?
