I STILL regard CT as my favorite place; However, the Collectors U. has adopted many of the best features of CT and has become a close second. Just IMO.
They've been around for a long time. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. This place rocks. End of story.
Now they have "notifications" when something new is posted on a thread I am posting in and agree/disagree/like options for each post. They also have a "Question Answered? - "yes" or "no" box! That way some dummy cannot come along hours/days later and add their two cents by posting opinions already given. "ANSWERED" appears at the initial posting so no need to open it unless you are interested.
I hate change too yet seems this change is for their best. For example, now there are options to quote individual posts that don't become multi-quotes. CT has that option.
I kind of like the idea of factoring out "agree/disagree" from "like" (and/or "dislike"). I like the idea of an "Answered" flag in principle, but does it mean "someone has posted an answer" (not always very useful), or "someone has posted the correct answer" (not always possible to determine objectively)?
The Member who asked the question in the original post has the option to end it with "answered" when they are satisfied that the answer is correct. Otherwise, one or two ignorant collectors (like me at times) can stretch a thread out to several pages when everyone else (including well-respected and identified by name experts in the field) is trying to educate them along with the OP. We have a few of them on CT.
