a got a merc dime once. I will search for a pic of it tomorrow.

 

Found 50 silver dimes in a roll last month. That's my best ever by a long shot, posted a thread on it

 

Both times it was nickels...

The first time was 30 years ago when I worked as a cashier at a local fast food place. I got a roll of nickels with a blue wrapper, I dumped it into my drawer, and it made a very weird sound... 15 of the coins were War Nickels! There was a 1942 Canadian nickel in AU. The other 24 coins were all dated 1940-1954.

The next time was two months ago (8/18 and 8/19/16) ... I grabbed 26 LOOMIS rolls from a teller at my local bank. It produced 99 pre-60s including a 1938-D Jefferson, and a 1937 Buffalo. I went back first thing the next morning and got the remaining 18 LOOMIS rolls she had (she had given out 6 after I left). Another 71 pre-60s including a 1936-D Buffalo. I grabbed a box of 50 more LOOMIS rolls from another teller. Back to back rolls produced the XF 1938-S and AU 1939-D coins in my current avatar, along with a dateless Buffalo and 34 other pre-60s. In addition, there was about about a roll worth of various Uncirculated coins dating from 1956 to 1979 in the batch. Unfortunately, those were the only two boxes of LOOMIS nickels they got that shipment. 207 pre-60s including 3 keys and 3 Buffalos. What a couple of days!!! Interestingly, there was not a single silver coin in the batch, making me think someone was collecting the coins over a long period and pulling the silver ones.

The 77 Liberty nickels from 1891-1912-D in 36 rolls of BWR last month.

Have had a solid roll of silver Roosies though.

Back about 5 years ago I found 9 90% halves and 69 40% halves in $360 worth of halves.

 

Thanks to TJ telling me what to look for I actually found a 2009 WDDR-001

best find was the 1982 sm date zinc Lincoln doubled die reverse discovery coin seen in my avatar. I eventually sold it for $4000

So far my best find has been a 1964 d DDR-001 Qtr

 

I have not found very amazing pieces in roll. Just a wheat cent here and there.

For nickels I got a 1938-s

 

Barber dime around 2013 and also about 3 mercury dimes that year. Was searching about $2000 of dimes at a time though about every 1-2 weeks and only looking at the rims for silver. Was unemployed and had more spare time. Searched other coins but mainly focused on dimes since they produced the most silver coins. Had about 1-6 silver dimes for every $500 in dimes. Haven't done much roll searching in the past few years.

 

I recently bought a un-opened $25.00 box of 2017P 1 cent coins off of Ebay. I
live on the west coast so we do not see very many P coins. Going through the 2500 coins, I found close to 1000 error coins. Granted, they are not doubled die or missing the P mint mark, but the best was a die break the starts above the eyebrow and forms a "Y" on the forehead. The right side of the "Y" extend into the hairline all the way around the head to close to the ear. On the obverse, there is a die gouge on the left side of the shield just below the motto that extends from the second stipe in the field to the left and outside the shield. There was close to 200 of those. There was close to 150 die break with die chips that extend from the ear up across the hairline to the top of the head. There are several that have the die gouge as described above only. I tried taking photos of these and I'll post them as soon as I figure out how to. I am new to this site.
