It looks like it's trying. These pictures really have to be sharper though to say.

It’s worth five cents. The steps are not full to be an FS coin.

Yours is a nice example but even if it was FS it would have to be MS65 to be worth even $20.

Sorry for the cell phone pictures. I will use my micro camera later. To me it looks like it has 6 steps

Not FS. it isn’t a MS60, and even though it has 4 complete lines between steps, it has major disturbances in the steps themselves from wear and contact abrasion.

Go to CoinTalk Search and enter the following:

“The FS ( Full Step ) Designation for Jefferson Nickel Defined (PHOTOGRAPHICALLY)”. … posted originally by Lehigh96 on March 19, 2009 in the “Coin Chat” forum.

This has all the pertinent info you need. Once you find it you need to make it a watched thread for future reference…Spark

It has 6 steps but not all of the steps have unbroken lines. The steps must be complete and intact with no breaks.
From the top, on the right side, steps 3 and 4 are merged together. The bottom steps are also merged together.

@ARBIE SANTOS This is one of my Full Steps War Nickels. As you can see it was graded by PCGS. I also enclosed the closest copy I could get with my cell phone camera. It shows the full steps, which it just barely passed and it’s on the label. I’m adding these photos to try and help you understand what it takes to have a nickel grade full steps. Proof nickels do not qualify for a FS designation. Hope this helps.
