LordM Giveaway #114 (pick your prize)

    Contest status: CLOSED
    Drawing: (@Hiddendragon won)
    Shipped: August 14, 2024
    Winner's receipt

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the latest giveaway. This will be another one of my "pick your prize" contests, so you can hopefully win something you'll like.

    To enter:

Select a prize of your choice from my Giveaway Gallery, and post an entry post stating your prize preference. For your entry to qualify, you must state a prize selection and say why you chose what you did. (Unless you're entering on someone else's behalf, in which case they will get to pick the prize later.) Your choice need not be final. Since I do periodically add new prizes to the Giveaway Gallery, you'll be given a chance to change your mind later if you win the drawing. I just like to hear the initial selections up front, since it gives me an idea of what folks like.

Click the pic to go to the gallery.

The drawing will be done via random number generator sometime on or after the date mentioned at the top of this post. The timing will depend on my schedule. You may consider the contest open for entries until such time as I have posted the final result of the drawing.

Totally free: the contest is free of charge, open to everyone, with free worldwide shipping. The only further requirement is that if you win...

Please post a receipt in this thread after you get the prize, so we'll know you got it (that helps me keep track).

    Good luck!

    Numismatic regards,

    ~Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick ("LordM")

    Hello!

I'd like to enter and choose the Cappadocian drachm because I have nothing like it and am not really sure where Cappadocia is.

The Kingdom of Cappadocia was located in what is now the central portion of modern Turkey, between 331 BC and 17 AD. That's a nice choice. I bought the coin from Marc Breitsprecher, whose store used to be called Ancient Imports.

Entry Post - Id like the 1951 2M from W Germany - I have recently gotten into learning about West German Studio Art Ceramics, and this is interesting as it is a physical reference to the prices I see quoted in various catalogues.

That coin is a lot nicer than it looks in my poor photographs.

I would like to enter for the 1943 Walking Liberty half dollar. The Walking Liberty design is my third favorite design on American coins, the Trade Dollar and Buffalo nickel being first and second. I also do not have any uncirculated Walking halves. Thank you, sir.

Entry post. Once more unto the breech dear friends. If it is to be then I would like the Roman Provincial (Moesia, Nicopolis): ca. 193-211 AD bronze Æ18 of Septimius Severus with old tags. I like to explore previous ownership of my coins so the old tags give an advantage in that endeavor. Thanks for the opportunity.

    Entry Post

This month I'm hearing a variation to the voice inside my head. Recently I've been guided to humbly request the 2c piece. This month, if I'm fortunate to have my post picked by the RNG, I'd like the 1943 Walking Liberty Half.

The third part of the giveaway guidelines (first being Entry Post, second being the coin choice) is why. The answer to that question is because that coin is beautiful, and, sometimes I listen to that little voice in my head. :banghead:
