    The R looks cool, but, I am sure it is MD. It would be cool, if there was a known example of a DDO, I would imagine that it looks close to the Doubling on a Shield cent EPU

    What little information I could find on this recessed doubling. There has been some discussion on the striking process. Definitely would not be considered a PMD since these recess letters have come out the consensus have been MD or HD but and one article I was reading due to the single strike there has been some discussion brought up on what causes this doubling. And opinions are starting to move towards doubling on the striking die. I'm sure down the line there's going to be a lot more discussions on this particular type. All I know is I have a good example somewhere of HD and there's a definite difference in the two. Like I said I to get some various opinions.:confused::blackalien:
