I have a complete set of Presidential proofs including the 2015 Presidential Reverse proofs. So I bought 3 sets (the household limit) and will send the sealed box to NGC for grading. You need to send in the sealed box to grade them. The silver eagle will not have a seperate label from all the other silver eagles. NGC told me that the label will be noted the same as all the other silver eagle proofs. I was told they want the sealed box so they can verify the silver eagle is early release with a different early release cut off date. Which in my opinion discredits the Early Release program. Because come on these Silver Eagles were made with the rest of them. The black retro label will be available for the silver eagle and the Reverse proof but will need to be on a seperate submission form from the medal. The 5 coin minumum has been waved.
Started what program? If you mean presidents on dollar coins that would have been Nixon with the Ike dollar. Ron might have done the Eisenhower Commem dollar (don't know if the authorization was signed in 88 or 89, might have been George H W Bush), and George W Bush gave us the small size president dollars
It was Ronald Reagan who signed The Liberty Coin Act which explains the proof silver eagle's presence in the set. The act authorized the series of American Silver Eagles and Reagan signed it into law on July 9, 1985. Of note, this year’s proof Silver Eagle sports edge lettering of "30th ANNIVERSARY."
Since the SE is included, I bought one for the complete Pres. collection. Just a few bucks more , how can it be a bad deal? And I didn,t have to stress to get one!
Nope, economics has its own Nobel prize - good enough for me. Anyone who insists economics isn't a science is a moron. PERIOD. Geology? Another question altogether.
Thankx for the info...I've read the NGC info re: grading of ER's but apparently missed the sealed box ER info...again murky bowcoups.
Stephen Hawking had a party for time travelers. He announced the party after it happened. Nobody came to that one, either.
Yet, if the US Mint release a Silver Eagle with a published mintage limit of 50,000 pieces, it would have sold out in 10 minutes. If the Ronald Reagan Set attracts open bids of even $50 in 1 years time, I would be extremely surprised.
