Been getting a lot of these beauts for cheap. Really need to stop buying them haha. Ruining my budget.
I really like those holed "Lindauer" coins and have been tempted to start a collection of them for all countries. Not sure how many that would be!
This 1847 Liberian proof cent is not my newest acquisition, but perhaps the second-newest. Just got the news from PCGS. I had acquired it in an NGC PR64 BN holder, and had the previous owner send it directly to a friend of mine so I could piggyback on his PCGS submission. My friend cracked it out and sent it in and it is now PCGS PR65 BN, making it, I believe, the highest graded at either service, and (rather surprisingly) it is pop. 1 in all grades at PCGS. Looking at auction records on the PCGS cert page, it seems I did very, very well on this one when I acquired it in a swap on the CU forums (for some nice raw US Seated Liberty coins). I have yet to see it in hand. Can't wait.
New pickup for my Austro-Hungarian korona date set (1892-1916) including PR/PL strikes and patterns. Austria KM-2820 1913 Corona Proof Silver 0.835 5g 23mm Very scarce original proof of the second year of type KM-2820 (1912-1916).
I just returned from some work travels and these two Ausrtia-Hungary Empire coins were waiting for me upon my return. Both were purchased reliant on sellers photos. Attached are my photos. I was pleasantly surprised how nice and lightly toned the 1907 5 Korona Coronation commemorative was. I was not as excited to see the 1879 2 Guilden 25th wedding anniversary commemorative to have a lot of hairlines and likely cleaned. Photos did not show this and no comment of it. Frustrating as I had been searching for a nice one for quite a while...still looking now I suppose.
These Danzig coins have a pretty cool design. Not worth much but I like them. And a cool , more valuable 6 pence token from Bristol, England
I love flea markets. Picked up a nice little pile of nicer Swiss stuff, but here are the buys of the day: Switzerland 1891 5 Rappen UNC Switzerland 1910 1/2 Franc UNC
Got this in a group lot at an estate auction. Have been trying to branch into ancient/world coins recently.
Agreed. I'd love to put together a full set of French coins from the 19th and 20th century at some point, as the quality of the art is top-notch.
