Ilkhanate Silver 2 Dirhams of Abu Sa'id Bahadur Khan (minted in Tiflis (Tbilisi) sometime between 1316 and 1335):
Please help identify this medallion. New user here so I can't post a new thread in the world coins yet. I was hoping someone would be kind enough to share any knowledge on what this medallion might be. On one side it has the chinese character: Moon = 月 = "yuè". On the other side it has a swastica. It has at least 50 years old.
I’ve had a couple so far and it’s a nice piece of history. I currently have a 1813 5 franc and a 1811 an Italian 5 lire with Napoleon.
Empire of the Romans Histamenom Nomisma of Constantine X Doukas (minted in Constantinople sometime between 1059 and 1067):
A papal medal of Paul III with Ganymede on the reverse, Mazio 52. The pink bits in Paul's ear and on his vestments as well as on the reverse rim are a mystery to me. Wax, verdigris?
Lets go back a bit further. These two just arrived from Auction: Celtic Britain, Dubonni Silver Unit ca 20 to 43 AD: Celtic Britain, Regni and Atrebates Silver Unit ca 10 to 20 AD:
