    I bought the RedBook from Amazon. Thank you for the advice.

    While searching through the steel pennies looking for a 1943 D DD (I have about 35 of them), I came across a bronze penny that was mixed in. I personally think it is a 1948 D with a damaged 8, but I would like second opinions. It is one of the roughest pennies I have. Thanks in advance.

    With a lot range of 1909-1929, you’ll want to take your time. The Red Book will help but only identifies a select few of potential variety coins from the period. Variety Vista might help you determine if you have anything. But there are several other sources to consider.
