That’s what I says when collectors don’t clean off the junk! Like I said, if the coin has a flaw, doubled, or some unknown issue, how are you going to find it with a stick of gum stuck on it. I think this fear of washing off the YUK is a bit foolish but to each their own! I hope you’re doing better today!

Yes, I am but still many problems from this. I’m dealing with them as best as I can and under the care of a urologist.

I thought it was because they interpreted the law as requiring a new design every 25 years.

Nut, I had to laugh! I added pictures of the nickel collection I’ve been working on for the past 8 months and the first comment was YUK! lol!
Sounds like things are improving some? I think Harvard Medical has a pick up team out front looking for a science project!

LOL. My YUK was not for you nickel collection but for the removal of gum on the coins do you can chew it again. It made me laugh but for chewing old used gum I’m still at YUK!!!

The treasury has the option of changing a design after 25 years without the approval of Congress. It is not required to change the design after 25 years.

If the treasury had been required to change the design, the Lincoln Cent, Mercury Dime and Walking Liberty Half Dollar would have been charged sooner.

It sure beats the alternative. :)

Thanks. I thought I had read somewhere that someone misinterpreted the law as requiring that the design be changed after 25 years, but perhaps it was my misinterpretation.
