Definitely post pictures, but don't get your hopes up! There is one original and thousands of reproductions. You can first take a look at the edge, if you see a seam, then it is definitely a reproduction.

Hello. I was going through my coin's and came a cross a 1776 Janus Copper. I think it belonged to my great uncle. I'm sure it is a replica but would love to know for sure. I cant seem to upload any image to the thread. I'll try to figure out how to upload them. But is there any way to know what would make it a replica? It is 23mm long about 5 grams, I don't see anywhere there would be the 'copy' mark.

Look for a seam. Follow "Uploading a File", chose your file and open. Then click "Full image", biggrin.gif then click Post Reply. Awaiting Pics...... biggrin.gif

Since 1776 there has been only one genuine one ever known and many thousands of replicas. Odds are definitely not good, pictures will confirm. You can compare to pictures of the genuine piece, if struck from the same dies details would match, if not then it is a fake.
