Did you find the half and the Mercury dimes in the same location? It made me curious if the same person might have dropped them all.

    Hello Paddy,
Not personally a great fan of the Barber coinage, but I have to sincerely graduate you on this excellent (conditioned) half. (Perhaps a days wage for labor in 1907?).
When actively detecting years ago, I was hunting my old elementary school grounds (Briscoe elementary est. 1928) & had attracted a handful of youngsters watching me dig lost surface change. I was explaining how I could tell how deep a target was when I received a faint signal. Digging down over 8" through black caleche clay, I pulled out this beautifully white 1915 Barber half...amazing, not only this group of kids, but myself as well! My coin was no where in as good condition
as your example..So Congrats on crossing this item off your Medal Detecting Bucket List.

No. It was an area where there is a lake. I detected there quickly in the beginning of the year and had found a Mercury Dime. But I had to leave. So, I decided to go back to the area and today I did. First, I found the 1943 Dime. Then the Barber Half about half an hour later at a different spot. And lastly the 1936 Dime further up the edge of the lake. I am definitely going back another day!

I did find a neat silver spill a few years ago also at Prospect Park.
I will find the video and share it with you!

Great finds Paddy, especially the Barber Half and it’s in very good condition for being in the ground close to a lake for so long. Get back to that area as soon as you can.

That half would go well in any collection. Great day you had there.

Fun finds Paddyman. The Kiddo and I are gonna go out tomorrow for my Birthday.
Gonna check some street to sidewalk runs in the city. Maybe an old school or two.

Paddyman! Awesome finds. I have never found a Barber Half before, jealous! Short storie: My friend and I were detecting near an old cellar hole. We decided to move on, and I shut off my machine and headed for the truck. A minute at the truck and he's still detecting back towards me, stoops down, targets something and before I knew it, he was pulling up a 1901 Barber Half. I was fuming mad, LOL.
P&G? Happy Birthday!! Check those school fields also. You'll do fine.
    Good Luck...... biggrin.gif

We ended up eating, a little bit of cooking, and my Favorite restaurant. El Trompito.
    Been going there since 2008.
