We never named our Penny cats after the coin, either. Ladymarcovan named Penny the First before she and I ever met. And our daughter named Penny II. Now we’re going to have to name every successive calico cat “Penny” out of tradition, it seems!

I’ll bet Charmy Harker (“The Penny Lady”) did name her cat Penny after the coin.

Exciting news- the prize offerings are about to expand considerably this month! None of this new stuff is in hand yet, let alone added to the Giveaway Gallery page, but I do hope to add it all by the end of the month. A dealer friend put this lot together for me.

So if there’s anything in the new stuff you want more than your initial prize pick, you will get the opportunity to change your selection later if you should happen to win the drawing.

@lordmarcovan, you are too generous. Just one question, why would you take the hardest question on CoinTalk, and make it harder?!

That’s what I get for my money and time invested in these contests. Where I get my fun. Seeing what people will pick, and learning what they like. It gets even more interesting, the wider I make the selection. And if it gets hard for you pick your prize, I must be doing something right!

Remember my old giveaways, when there were just three or four prizes to choose from- maybe eight at most? I wanna make a small free store! The extra variety is fun, don’tcha think? ;)

I know what you mean, though. I remember being a kid in the Baskin-Robbins “31 flavors” ice cream parlor at the mall, not being able to choose one. (It usually ended up being something green. Pistachio or Mint Chocolate Chip. But Black Cherry was good, too.)

The idea is to hopefully have a little bit of “something for everyone”. The prizes aren’t high-dollar stuff (usually $25-50-ish each lot), but I can make up for that with variety.

It seems our kitten's name was changed by my wife to Patches. I don't know if I mentioned it before, but, at some time in her short life, her eyes were covered with crud. Our vet gave us some medicine, but it was only minimal helpful. He told us to bring her in and he would check on it. He must have called 3-4 Specialist in cat eyes. The result was that she is doing better and we are $200 poorer, but I won't complain. My wife won't let her sleep with us. We do have to put in eye drops ever couple of hours. I love your Penny. Thank you for your many comments.

    Money well spent.

Big Bob here just cost me $750 for his surgery. But he’s back to his place in the driveway, much improved now. He’s a former stray who showed up about six months ago and adopted us. Despite having lived a hard life, ol’ Bob is an affable fella. Guess he’s our cat now, and we’re his people.

He rises up on his hindquarters to have his head rubbed.

I'm also an adopter in a way. My wife and I are rescue Mom and Dad and have been for many years. This cat is adorable, and every animal deserves a chance at life.
Thanks for picking up the strays! biggrin.gif

Sal, my wife and I are care takers for as many as 15 to as few as 7 feral cats every day. It kinda become a circus act everyday making sure they all eat. And they eat well! This has been going on for the past 10 years and cat food ain’t cheep! They’ve cost me a small fortune but hey, I’d probably just waste it on some dented coins lol. Over time, we trapped and had them fixed with the help of a local animal shelter. The wild ones come back and the young ones are adopted. Btw, did tell you how much I love cats?

That’s kind of a cop-out. I like folks to pick their prize up front, and say why, so I get some ideas about what’s popular. (It’s the one bit of fun I get out of these contests, for which I don’t require much else.) You could always change your selection later if you won.

But I’ll let it slide this time, and count your entry. ;)
